‘Hava, Maryam, Ayesha’ awarded in Bangladesh

The Iranian-Afghan movie ‘Hava, Maryam, Ayesha’ has grabbed an award at the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

The festival’s Best Actress in Asian Film Competition Section award went to Arezoo Ariapoor, Fereshta Afshar and Hasiba Ebrahimi for their role in ‘Hava, Maryam, Ayesha’.

The film is made by Afghan director Sahraa Karimi and produced by Iranian producer Katayoun Shahabi where its post-production stage took place in Iran.

The movie narrates the story of “three Afghan women from different social backgrounds, living in Kabul, who are facing a big challenge in their lives”, according to a synopsis for the film.

The 18th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival took place on January 11-19.
